View ProfileOver forty years ago, Tree of Life Nursery began propagating California native plants with the notion that the developed hillsides and open spaces in the state were in desperate need of returning to their natural, beautiful forms. Today, the nursery supplies a high quality line of over 500 species and varieties for landscaping and ecological restoration at the wholesale level. Located on 40 acres of the historic Rancho Mission Viejo in San Juan Capistrano, Tree of Life Nursery provides a means by which California’s precious flora can return to the land. Services offered include special orders for site-specific provenance, rare and endangered species, various sizes of containerized and bare root plants, and large quantities for restoration jobs. Tree of Life Nursery staff has extensive experience in ecological restoration, habitat enhancement and authentic landscaping. Focusing on stewardship of the land, we are truly dedicated to the concept of horticulture appropriate to this beautiful region called California. Now, Tree of Life natives are made available to the general public through the Casa ‘La Paz’ Plant & Book Store, where plants and books are on display for the gardener and homeowner. Customers who discover the nursery for the first time are delighted by the natural setting and enlightened with the information that greets them when they make the trip out the Ortega Highway. California’s unique climate, history and culture provide us with a canvas for a classic painting. Ultimately, with education and persistence, we hope to see a return to a more conservative, genuine landscape. For forty years, Tree of Life Nursery has been an advocate for a California that looks like it should—authentic California. Mike Evans, President and Jeff Bohn, Chief Executive Officer [read more]

View ProfileTresino's, a family owned and operated business, originated three generations ago in St. Louis, MO. in a predominately Italian community called "The Hill". It was in the basement of Nana Giovannina Mazzocchio's modest shotgun-style home that she perfected her family recipes. She even furnished many surrounding gourmet Italian restaurants with her well-loved homemade pastas. Nana Giovannina owned and operated her first restaurant in 1964. Her restaurant was very popular and frequented by many celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Ginger Rogers, and Betty Grable to name a few. In 1982 her son, Lorenzo Mazzocchio, wife Sheryl, along with their nephew, opened Pasta House Ferrantelli in San Juan Capistrano, preparing the same generational recipes along with those he developed himself. In 1986 he moved his small twelve table restaurant into the Dana Point Marina and Ristorante Ferrantelli became one of the most popular four star fine dining Italian restaurants in Orange County. In 1991 they opened Mangia Bene Ristorante in Laguna Niguel, making this restaurant one that would cater to the casual Southern California lifestyle. Now Nana Giovannina's grandchildren, Gino and Theresa, son and daughter to Lorenzo and Sheryl, are bringing to the Inland Empire that same fresh Italian food experience! Please enjoy these authentic family recipes from Nana Giovannina and the entire Mazzocchio family. Grazie Mille e Saluto Tutti [read more]
